Big News!

Jeremy has gone to the day shift! We are very excited for this. It now means we can be a "normal" couple. It has been nice leaving together, and arriving home at relatively the same time. We went grocery shopping, and purchased food for cooking nice home dinners.

It has been a really enjoyable week for us. It is nice to see we can still be in love after spending more than just the weekend together. It is fun to find what we have in common, what we enjoy doing together, and new ways to spend our evenings.

This change in shift is really a blessing to be happening on the eve of our wedding.

Our Song

We were laying in my bed, and I put in my Eagle's CD. The song came on, and I looked at her. I told her to listen to the song. It reminds me of you. It's an awesome song.

"Lost and Lonely. Now you've given me the will to survive."

We had gone through a lot that night. It was an emotional roller coaster, as things from my previous relationship had yet to be figured out, and was having a huge impact on us. I thought playing the CD would help us relax, and enjoy each others company.

"Don't you worry. Sometimes you just gotta let it ride."

Eagles are my favorite band, and I feel it is fitting to have one of their hits be our song. There are plenty out there that Crystal says remind her of me, but this one, right when we heard it, fit everything.

Which is why it plays whenever you visit our little blog.

The Little Things...Kind Of.

Everything seems to be coming together. With the help of MykeAnne and Ricky, Jeremy and I finished all the invitations. Those who are invited to be witnesses to the ceremony had their invitations mailed on Friday. The rest will be mailed in the next week.

We started putting together the bubble favors, and centerpieces. I think they will be cute. They are not extravagant by any means. Jeremy and I are really striving to have a simple, casual wedding.

Since we are having the wedding out doors, there is not a lot of decorating going into this. The natural beauty will be enough I think. Just some table linens, photos, centerpieces. I am still trying to figure out if I want to have ribbons, and flowers adorning the bridge/aisle.
My future sister-in-law, Lisa, had a really great idea about making my own aisle runner. I am going to be looking into it. I can borrow my mother's sewing machine, and hopeful create one we can be proud of.

I think I've picked out my dress, finally. I think you can tell it's a wedding dress, but one that is intended for a beach affair, or something breezy. There is no train, or veil. I don't know if I want a veil. If I decide that I could always go get one from David's or something. We'll see how it turns out. I know I won't reach any where close to my final goal weight, so right now I am aiming towards slimming down my face. :P

The only details to be figured out are the photographer, and the officiator. Jeremy's cousin has graciously volunteered to do the music for free. My side of the wedding party seems to be up in the air, as the wedding date has been moved closer, and members may not be able to attend. Which is completely understandable given they are all out of town for the most part.

So that is where we stand.

Making Invitations

I'll admit I am a bit of a scrapbooker, and I thought it would be fun to make our own invitations, and maybe save some money. My cute soon-to-be hubby jumped right in to help!

Finalized Wedding Plans. Seriously. Last Revision.

After many revisions, and discussions, Jeremy and I have nixed the huge wedding plans. It didn't quite fit. We put our heads together, and for the first time in all of this came up with a plan that I am truly excited about.

We will be getting married May 23rd in Provo Canyon. We have reserved a park there for the whole day. It's going to be outdoor and casual. We moved the date up because my Washington family will be down for my brother's baby, and there is not sense in making them come again in November when the Blues and Snohomish Passes could be terrible.

The bridesmaids will be in red dresses, style and shade of their choice. Same with all of our mothers. The men will be in red shirts with black slacks and ties. The boutonnieres will be ivory roses, and the women will be carrying bouquets of ivory and red roses.

My dress I haven't quite decided on. I want something summery, and semi causal. I am looking for a white or ivory dress with red accents, although I am not married to the idea of the red so if I find something that is solid white or ivory I will be okay with that.

The ceremony will take place prior to the reception. I am excited because there is a bridge to walk over with my dad to where Jeremy will be standing.

This weekend we got the wedding favors, centerpieces, and made plans for the cake, which my mother and step-father have generously volunteered to take care of. My mom took some pictures of me and Jeremy for the invitations.

The only detail I don't have a plan for yet is who is officiate over the ceremony. Neither of us are church goers, or religious. There are non-denominational ministers available for a cost. In reviewing their websites I do like one of their vows. It doesn't bring God or anything like that into the vows.

(For the record, since the question has come up, I'm not pregnant.:P )

March Weight Loss Report

I'll be honest: I didn't kick it into gear until last Monday. However in that week I have lost five pounds. I will keep on this No Gravy train and keep on going.

My Keebler

I hope you all can see how much like a keebler elf my fiancee looks. Isn't she cute?

We have had a lot of good times, and I look forward to a long future full of many more.

In-Laws

We are really getting excited about our May trip to California. I have yet to have to opportunity to meet Jeremy's mother, and step-mother, Tammy and Jill. It is an experience I am looking forward to, and I know Jeremy will be glad to see them again.

Of the future in-laws we have had the chance to meet it has become very apparent to each of us we are very fortunate in the respective families we get to join.

Location: Final Answer

We have decided to go with Millenial Falls in Draper. We are really excited about it. We feel it is a place that matches what we want in a ceremony facility, as well as a reception hall.

The grounds are going to make for beautiful engagement and bridal photos.
There are waterfalls all throughout the yard, and there is a cute gazebo off to the side.

It appears we have almost everything planned for. Now it's just making it happen.

The Ring

When Jeremy proposed to me in February he had a ring. I missed mentioning it in other posts. It's a wonderful ring. I apologize for not posting a photo earlier. This is one we took the other day. It doesn't really do it any justice, but you get the idea.
