Swimming with Daddy

Jer and I decided to switch off every other week with Madelynn and her swimming lessons.  This week was Jeremy's turn, and Madelynn did so well.  She did a lot better this week.  She started splashing more, and didn't freak out when she slipped out of Jer's grip, and fell face first into the water.

Madelynn's Swimming Lessons

We enrolled Madelynn in Tot swimming lessons at the local rec center. Madelynn let her legs float, but not her whole body.  She would splash around.  Madelynn did pretty well with the water until she leaned too far forward and got a face full of water.  After that she was not having it.  Thankfully the class was over at that point.  We waited around for the pool to re-open, and swam for another hour with Dad and Angela.

Madelynn is such a funny, little kid.  We are watching the Oscars, and when the songs that are nominated came on she started "dancing".

Boppy Potato

Whenever Madelynn watches TV she has to crawl over to her boppy, scoot to have her head on it, and have a bottle.  Her favorite shows are "Wonder Pets" (Ugh!) and "Backyardigans" (which I love).

Papa

Madelynn is slowly beginning to associate the  'words' with meanings.  Currently she says "mama" "dada" "baba" and "papa" for grandpa.  She understands when we ask her certain things.  She knows what feet are.  When asked how old she is she'll raise her index finger.  We are encouraged that her language skills are improving, as Becca told us it would be a while because Madelynn is concentrating on her gross motor skills.  Turns out Madelynn is a multi-tasker!


This is a video of her saying Papa.  She knows that Dave, John, and Rick are grandpa.  It's cute to hear her say Papa when she sees them.

Madelynn's hair is so long on the top of her head.  After her bath Jer likes to play with it.

Madelynn will stop and watch the TV whenever Engine Room's "A Perfect Lie"

comes on.  It's the theme song to Nip/Tuck.  Jeremy and I watch several episodes

every Sunday.

Madelynn is Everywhere!

 We packed up all the clothes that are too small for Madelynn.  She is 

trying to get into them, but thankfully, can't figure out the zipper.

Madelynn is helping me fold laundry by pulling all of Jeremy's 

t-shirts on the floor.

She started getting into the kitchen, and I had to block it off with

the coffee table and a chair.  I can't find a gate long enough to keep

her out.
