Pumpkins!

Saturday was a bit rainy, but being the Washingtonians we are, we all went to the pumpkin patch.  It was your typical Hurst/Reed outing with Madelynn and Andrew calling out for each other making sure they were never too far away from one another.

Finding the Perfect Pumpkin
They had lots of little sights for the children.  Andrew drove him and Maddie on their first illegal date (or is second cousins legal?  Ew either way :) ) They found the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe.

Craven Farms had a face painting area set up for the kids.  Madelynn and Mikhaila got their faces painted.  It was decided Andrew was too much of a boy, and would not sit still for such frivolous things.  Instead he ate a big old chili bowl.  (Have we ever mentioned how much we love that kid?)

Candid Family Photos

Everyone had a camera.  While I do not have access to everyone else's photos I am posting the candid that I do have that do not really fit into a category.

The Three Amigos.  Who knew there would three toddlers around this
year?

If there was a way to describe our family it would
be passive aggressiveness.
I guess Madelynn feels the same way.

Where Did Our Baby Go?

My cousin, Alexander, was married on July 7th to Angela.  It was a beautiful wedding.

With the special occasion comes a new dress for Ms. Madelynn.  Our little toddler looked like a little girl.

Her and Andrew were so well behaved at the wedding.  We were very proud (and quiet relieved) with the two of them. As usual the two were very cute together.

They were cute separately too. :)

Hmmm.  What does Daddy have?

Whass (that's how they pronounce it) that?

Where did the baby go?

After some dancing in her chair...

...Madelynn was tuckered out, and ready to go home.

It is always a joy to spend time with the Reeds, and Madelynn's BFF 'drew.

Catching Up: Adventures with the Reeds

I'm trying to remember where I left off in the hopes I don't repeat myself or leave anything out.

We spend a lot of time with the Reeds.  We went to the park with the little ones a while ago.  Andrew had never been on a slide.  Madelynn had to give him some encouragement to come down.  Together the swung, went on the slide, and on the merry-go-round, which Andrew loved, but Madelynn did not.

On the following weekend we decided to take the nuggets to the Andersons to enjoy some sun, the swing set and jumping on the trampoline.

We stayed over one night, and the kiddos thought that meant a slumber party...I'm sure as hell not going to be the one stuck with the two toddlers, so they were separated before bed.

One Sunday we decided to go to the Seattle Aquarium.  Which was a great experience for the children.  I was hoping there would be sharks, but alas, there weren't any.   ($20 admission and no sharks!!)

A couple of weeks ago the Reeds came over to our place so my uncle Kerry could assist Jeremy on the brakes to my beloved Jetta.  To keep the kids entertained they played Dance Central.

Later the toddlers decided it would be fun to climb the end table and jump on the couch.  Poor little Andrew isn't quiet as agile as his cousin.  (Believe me I know his pain).

Easter Sunday

As usual Aunt Amber and Uncle Kerry were hosting an Easter luncheon for the family.

Prior to the serving of the ham, potatoes, corn, and rolls the munchkins played outside in the back yard.

Next we all decided to dye eggs.  Jeremy chose Andrew to be his egg, and decorated him with stickers.

Aunt Amber and I hid eggs for the kids to find.  This was the first Easter were Madelynn and Andrew could walk.  We were all delighted at how quickly they caught on.

Aunt Cheri, Uncle Dallas, Alleana, Alex and Angela joined us as the Easter egg hunt was coming to a close.  Aunt Cheri hid some sticker eggs, and the kids, now hunting experts found them with ease.

No family gathering would be complete without DC2.  The matches were fierce and the outcomes close.
Round One: Crystal and Alleana - Crystal is the victor
Round Two: Alex and Jeremy - Alex is the victor
Round Three: Crystal and Alleana....same outcome.  (Never underestimate the fat cousin!!)
Round Four: Jeremy and Alleana - Jeremy is the victor.

Andew joined in on the fun, while Madelynn quietly read a book in the corner.

As the night came to a close, Andrew and Madelynn discovered the four wheeler.  They were off around the kitchen with the help of Uncle Kerry.

Andrew and Madelynn

Madelynn has found a new playmate in Andrew. Now that the novelty have warn off they can play instead of examine one another. He has helped her to talk more, and she has helped him learn to crawl. They are so cute together, I have to share pictures.
