Seattle Exploration Day One: EMP and the Space Needle

EMP

Being of the generation the mothers are, they were not leaving Seattle without seeing the AC/DC exhibit at the Experience Music Museum.  The EMP is an amazing place. They have rooms where one can play different instruments, a horror film exhibit, Nirvana and AC/DC exhibits, not to mention Seattle's own Jimi Hendrix.  I was in heaven, they were in heaven, and Jeremy and Madelynn were along for the ride. :)

When one initially enters EMP and goes up the stairs they are met by Trimpin's "If VI was IX" guitar tower.

The Sky Church.  The umbrellas (for a lack of a better description) are in sync with the local bands's music videos being played on the large screen.

Can't Look Away: The Lure of Horror Film Music

The  Scream Booth allowed patrons to pick an angry scream or a scared scream to portray. The screams were then shown on the televisions on the outside, and upload to Flicker for us to download later.  Can you guess who got which scream?

My poor husband.  Every time we came to visit Washington I would promise to take him downtown.  It wasn't until a move and a year later that we made it happen.  It is the 50th anniversary of the building of the needle.  They were offering free pictures to be sent to one's email address for a keepsake of the adventure.

California Mamas

On Saturday, May 19th, Moms Tammy and Jill joined us in Washington for a week of exploration.   Madelynn absolutely loves her Grandma Grandmas.  (Our children are not born with bigotry, but are taught it.  Madelynn didn't find anything unusual with Grandma Grandma.  I am full of pride).

Because we did so much, I am going to split up each day into it's own post.  It was an amazing time for Madelynn to bond with her grandparents, and for us to show off the state we love so much.

Catching Up: Adventures with the Reeds

I'm trying to remember where I left off in the hopes I don't repeat myself or leave anything out.

We spend a lot of time with the Reeds.  We went to the park with the little ones a while ago.  Andrew had never been on a slide.  Madelynn had to give him some encouragement to come down.  Together the swung, went on the slide, and on the merry-go-round, which Andrew loved, but Madelynn did not.

On the following weekend we decided to take the nuggets to the Andersons to enjoy some sun, the swing set and jumping on the trampoline.  

We stayed over one night, and the kiddos thought that meant a slumber party...I'm sure as hell not going to be the one stuck with the two toddlers, so they were separated before bed.

One Sunday we decided to go to the Seattle Aquarium.  Which was a great experience for the children.  I was hoping there would be sharks, but alas, there weren't any.   ($20 admission and no sharks!!)

A couple of weeks ago the Reeds came over to our place so my uncle Kerry could assist Jeremy on the brakes to my beloved Jetta.  To keep the kids entertained they played Dance Central.

Later the toddlers decided it would be fun to climb the end table and jump on the couch.  Poor little Andrew isn't quiet as agile as his cousin.  (Believe me I know his pain).
